Remember, Rejoice, Repeat

“Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.” SOS 1:4.

027This weekend a group gathered to celebrate the Lord’s blessings of 40 years of ministry that has taken place at the Christian Youth Camp. We remembered our beginning, the witness of those who came before us and are now with the Lord, the work of the Lord and the depth of His love that draws us each year to this place. We remembered the faces of those who came burdened with sin but not knowing what burden they carried. Then we remembered their faces as they experienced that burden lifted through the salvation of our Lord. And we rejoice.DSCF4776

“Give Thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord. Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and judgments of his mouth:” 1Chron. 8-12.

With great blessing comes great responsibility to repeat the telling of the works of God among us. God’s power and provision in the past produces faithfulness in the next generation. There is an old song, “It is No Secret”, that states, “It is no secret what God can do. What He’s done for others, He’ll do for you.” So:

“Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee: thy elders, and they will tell thee.” Deut. 32:7.

Remember, Rejoice, and Repeat often among the people the wonderful works of our God and Savior.

What remembrance holds a special place in your heart? Think on it and you will find you are rejoicing again. Repeat it to someone and share the joy, if no one else, share it with me. I love to hear the good things God is doing for His children and we will rejoice together.
