…the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Rev. 17:14.
Only those called, and chosen and faithful accompany the Lamb. If I understand this correctly, the called may or may not be with the Lamb “For many are called, but few are chosen.” Matt. 22:14. The call must first be received before we can be among the called.
The call: “…there is no God else beside me: a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else…the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.”
The call or invitation into God’s kingdom sounds throughout the earth each time the gospel is spoken. Only those responding positively to the gospel message are counted among the called. The called are those, “…not…ashamed of the testimony of our Lord…Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”2Tim. 1:8-10. The call goes out to many, but the majority turn a deaf hear to the truth.
For, “…we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called …Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God…For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called…That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption: That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” 1Cor. 1:23-31.)
Those among the called receive God’s invitation to experience a relationship with Him through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And He tells the wise man to not, “…glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for these things I delight, saith the Lord.” Jer. 9:23,24.
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…” 1John 3:1a.
The call, “be ye saved” has gone out throughout the earth. Have you heard it? Have you received it? Are you among the called? And if so, have you been chosen and for what? That’s for tomorrow, Lord willing.
Praying all that read this know the salvation of the Lord. If you do not, won’t you hear His call today?
PS. I need your prayers. This week when I start to write, interruptions bombard me. So, know, if there is cohesive thought to my posts, it definitely is to the glory of God. Maybe that’s why the interruptions; to keep me mindful it is by His Spirit. Thank you.
