Consolation of Israel

blogbasilica-of-the-holy-sepulchre-2070814__340Blessed be the Lord God of Israel…” “Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.” Ex.19:5,6.

“…for he hath visited us and redeemed his people…” “And there was one Anna, a prophetess…a widow…which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she…gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem…we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel…Then he said… O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory…behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself…Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” (Lu. 2:38; 24:21,25-26, 39; Heb. 9:12).

“And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David…” “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance. In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted. For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted. For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.”Ps. 89:15-18.

“As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:” “But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled…Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A PROPHET SHALL THE LORD YOUR GOD RAISE UP…UNTO YOU OF YOUR BRETHREN, LIKE UNTO ME; HIM SHALL YE HEAR IN ALL THINGS…AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT EVERY SOUL, WHICH WILL NOT HEAR THAT PROPHET, SHALL BE DESTROYED FROM AMONG THE PEOPLE. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.” Acts 3:18,21-24.

“That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;” ”I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” Ps. 18:1-3.

“To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant: The oath which he sware to our father Abraham…” “Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, AND IN THY SEED SHALL ALL THE KINDREDS OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED. Unto you first God, having raised up his son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.” Acts 3:25-26.

“…that we…might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.” “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new…put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (2Cor. 5:17; Eph. 4:24).

Zacharias filled with the Holy Ghost prophesied the bold scriptures, found in Luke 1:68-75, concerning the consolation of Israel, the coming Messiah. Not only is this prophecy for Israel, but through the blessing of Abraham to “all the kindreds of the earth”.  Christ has redeemed us and saved us from our enemies that we too might serve Him in righteousness and holiness, free from the fear of condemnation.

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:17-18.

Praying this Christmas season begins and continues a life of your blessing the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed us and made us His own. Praise ye the Lord.
