The Apostle

blogheart-2028062__340What need supersedes all other needs? Have you stopped to consider what compelling hunger of your heart drives you in life? Do you know what it is?  The Apostle, sent by God, meets you in the hidden places of your heart to fill your need.

“…consider the Apostle and High Priest…Christ Jesus…”(Heb, 3:1). An apostle is one sent to represent another to fulfill a specific mission. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved…And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent… John 3:17; 17:3).

Jesus is that apostle, qualified to represent God for He is one with God, and is God. “…that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in Me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me…And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me…Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father…Jesus saith…Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father…”(John 17:21;12:45;14:8-9).

And this Apostle, “…was faithful to him that appointed him…” (Heb. 3:2). “Though he were a Son, yet, learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him…Christ Jesus…being in the form of God…equal with God…was made in the likeness of men…he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross… I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do…I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.(Heb. 5:8-9; Phil. 2:5-8; John 17:4,26).

Jesus Christ, the Apostle of our salvation, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high…was faithful…as a son over his own house; whose house are we…Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom…together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord…for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”(Heb. 1:3; 3:5,6; Eph.2:19-22).

The Apostle of our salvation has, “…given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.” (John 17:8). Our greatest need is very simply to believe God. Believe He sent the Son to declare Himself unto us and bring us to the Father. Believe He faithfully did all God sent Him to do. He was sent to declare God’s love and is the declaration of the same.

If you have received God’s words as declared by the Apostle Jesus Christ then He says this to you and to me, “As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”(John 17:18).

Heavenly Father, may the hearts of those who read this receive your words of truth, that we may all be one and receive of the glory of God…Christ in us. Amen.
