Where Can You Go?

When hope vanishes like a vapor, when temptation tests your limits, when left alone, when your body is racked with pain, where do you go? There is One who understands it all. He is the High Priest of our souls.DSCF4721

“…we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God…glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, THOU ART MY SON, TO DAY HAVE I BEGOTTEN THEE…THOU ART A PRIEST FOR EVER…” (Heb. 4:14; 5:5,6).

“…we have a great high priest…”

“Who in the days of his flesh…it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour(help)them that are tempted…But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them…” (Heb. 5:7; 2:17,18; 7:24,25).

“…intercession for them…” “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not… Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.” (Luke22:31,32; John 17:20).

After praying for us, “he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death…he…fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt…there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground… we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.(Heb. 5:7; Matt. 26:39; Luke 22:43,44; Heb. 4:15).

“…yet without sin…For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him…Who did no sin…For such an high priest, became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens…by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” (2Cor. 5:21; 1Peter 2:22a; Heb. 7:26; 9:12b).

“…unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard…two men…in shining garments…said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen…the Son of man… laid his right hand upon me, saying…Fear not: I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore…but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself…So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Mark 16:4-6; Rev.1:13,17,18; Heb.9:26,28).

What does it mean? “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God…For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified…therefore brethren, enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus…and having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart…Let us hold fast the profession of our faith…let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Heb. 10:12,14,19-25).

Praying each one reading today, knows the eternal salvation and comfort of our Great High Priest, Jesus Christ who is ever before the Father for us. Praise and glory to the Priest who was the Offering.
