The Fullness of Christ

blogheart-2028062__340“For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily…And of his fullness have all we received…And ye are complete in him…(Col. 2:9; John 1:16; Col.2:10).

In the King of Glory, full of grace and truth, dwells the fullness of the Godhead. And He has shared that fullness with those who receive Him. Think about the meaning behind these words.

“For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily… And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD… And Jesus…full of the Holy Ghost…was led by the Spirit into the wilderness… Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him… And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory…unto the Son he saith, THY THRONE, O GOD, IS FOR EVER AND EVER…” (Isa. 11:2; Luke 4:1; Isa. 42:1;1Tim 3:16; Heb. 1:8.)

“And of his fullness have all we received… And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them… the Spirit of truth; whom the world, cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you… know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God…Eph. 3:19; And be not drunk with wine…but be filled with the Spirit.. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:” (Ezek. 36:27; John 14:17; Eph. 5:18; Col. 2:6).

“And ye are complete in him…Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you being dead in your sins…hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances …against us…and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross…having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it… According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (Col. 2:12-15;2Pet. 1:3).

Praying, we all

“…know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God…Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine…but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.” Eph. 3:19; 4:13-15.

How would you explain what it means to receive of the fullness of Christ?
