Hearing God Through Friends

“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” Eph. 5:17.blogreligious-2598299__340

I don’t share much about myself on this blog, for one reason. When the Lord put it in my heart to write here, He meant it to be His blog, pointing others always to Him. It’s my first fruit offering to Him. I believe He may be leading me to start another blog that will first, honor Him but also include personal lessons He has taught me through our journey together,  lessons of life and lessons in writing as a ministry to reach others.  I appreciate your prayers for me in this direction.

With that said, my blog today will be short. For I believe God wants to speak to me through you who have chosen to follow and visit me each day. Life the last few weeks has kept me from visiting your blogs regularly and hearing how God is working in your lives. I am thankful for each one who takes the time to read and/or comment on the scriptures I share each day. I pray for you often. Today, I believe, He wants to speak to me through the word He gives you, whether you are a visitor, a follower or blogger.

I look forward to our time together and to any comments you might want to leave about how God is working His wisdom in you. Thank you and, Lord willing, tomorrow we will resume the topic of wisdom either in the fear of the Lord or in the marriage of wisdom and understanding.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

Donna, or as most of you know me: believe4147.

  2. Praise be to the Lord!!! ❤ Donna would you like me to add you to the community prayer list.

Thank you so much for your prayers. I'd love to read more personal posts about sharing your life. I definitely think that would give God all the more glory. ❤

      1. It seems this is my challenge: Being careful to use God’s gift of time as He has purposed. The challenge comes in interruptions and me forgetting I asked Him to order my day. Thanks, especially if you can make sense of this.

      2. Okay, I’ll think I’ll pray for you to be able to use the time God has given you wisely and for His purpose, as well as guidance in your prayer walk with Him. 🙂 This sound okay?

  3. Donna, I hear you when you say, “When the Lord put it in my heart to write here, He meant it to be His blog, pointing others always to Him.” Amen! I so agree this is what all our blogs should be if we are true followers of Jesus Christ. But, then you said, “He may be leading me to start another blog that will first, honor Him but also include personal lessons He has taught me through our journey together, lessons of life and lessons in writing as a ministry to reach others.” I don’t see a conflict here, meaning I don’t see why you have to start another blog. If this present blog is the Lord’s, and it is the Lord who is leading you to share some of your personal lessons he has taught you, then why could those not be shared here? Just give them another category to distinguish them from your other blog posts.

I am certain you mean to point others always to HIM through what you share about your life lessons, too, don’t you? I mean, what is scripture? It is not just instructions, but it is filled with people’s life stories of what God took them through and what God taught them through them which were all written down for us as examples and as warnings so that we can learn from them what not to do and what God would have us to do and to be and to share with others. God gives us our life stories for a reason, but it is not just for us to learn from them, but for us to share with others, as there may be others who are presently going through what we went through and who might be encouraged by what the Lord taught us through our journey. This is one of many ways in which we can encourage the body of Christ and point everyone always to God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

If you will permit me, I will share here with you a blog post the Lord gave me on this subject of Our Stories – https://walkingwounded.blog/2018/01/18/book-chapter-nine/. It explains, biblically, why it is important that we share our testimonies of where God has brought us on our journeys so that we might encourage and build one another up in the faith, which is pointing others always to Christ. So, just saying I believe that can be done on your present blog and it still be God’s blog, as long as you are pointing others always to Him in whatever you write, which I have no doubt that you will do. God bless you! Sue

  4. I believe your focus on this blog is clear. You challenge and encourage others through scripture with a little bit of your own commentary on the verses to tie them together. I can see both possibilities. A new blog with a little different purpose and form. Keeping the two separate helps direct your focus and tone. However, I can also see keeping them together but separated by categories. It’s a little messier if you want to post to both each day like you have been on this blog. But you could do it. Whichever method you choose, I believe God will continue to use you to reach others with His message.
