“Only the LORD had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.” Deut. 10:15.
My study of Revelation detoured my thoughts for today’s blog, taking me to Romans 11. In studying the chapter again, the Holy Spirit humbled my heart through a growing spiritual understanding. It stirred a deeper love in my heart for Israel because my heavenly Father loves them and because God ordained my salvation through them. Here, I, also, want to thank God for those like my fellow blogger, Donald N. Norris, My Heart is for Israel, who faithfully reaches out to Israel through the word of God and prayer. You know better than I, Israel has a remnant.
“I say, then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid…God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew…Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” Rom. 11:1a,2a,5.
“What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for…For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.”(Rom. 10:3). “…but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded…Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteouosness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.” Isa. 51:1;
“I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid…but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared and be taken.”(Isa. 8;14,15) “…but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy…Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it (Acts 28:28).
Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles, how much more their fullness? ” “For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead…For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” (Rom. 11:15; Rom. 5:10,11)
“As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes…For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:” Eph. 2:14-16. “…but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes…But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;” Deut. 7:8,9.
“…that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved; As it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins…And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.” Zech. 13:8,9.
“For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all… For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greek… Seeing then it is one God which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.” (Rom. 1:16; Rom. 3:30).
“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.” (Rom. 10:1). Won’t you join me in this prayer. It will be answered. We have God’s word on it.
