Where To Find Satisfaction

“The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:

The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.” Prov. 30:15,16.

blogchapel-2738911__340The heart cries for satisfaction, to be filled with something. What we fill it with determines our level of satisfaction. We began this week with one verse, Psalm 65:4, describing a blessed man, one who knows satisfaction because he has been chosen, he has access to God, and he dwells with God and God with him.

“Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts:

we shall be satisfied… For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness… But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content…As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness… Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (Ps. 107 9;1Tim. 6:6-8; Ps. 17:15;1John 3:2).

…with the goodness… Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s…Therefore take no thought, saying What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? Or Wherewithal shall we be clothed…for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Ps. 103:2-5; Matt. 6:31-33).

…of thy house, even of thy holy temple…How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God…Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them…For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in Thee! (Ps. 84:1,2,4,5; Verses 10-12, NASB).

True satisfaction in life comes only from our heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ. If you do not know Him, your heart is empty, void of true contentment. Call out to Him in your need. He satisfies the longing soul.

I’m ending today with a thank you to those who commented on their blessings and those who showed them the path of blessing. I’m including a couple today, and I hope to include some more next week. Thank you for blessing my week and I pray you are blessed this weekend as you meet with other believers and continue to share your blessedness in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Your post reminded of all the people God placed in my life at critical points to nurture my faith and deepen my relationship with Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the guidance of these people. In the same way we should also look to mentor people God puts in our life, to accept this role and help them to grow in their faith.
