“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:

it shall not return unto me void,

but it shall accomplish that which I please,

and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isa. 55:11.

“Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” Jere. 1:12

“For I am the Lord:

I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass…”

Jeremiah 12: 25a

The following are taken from Mark 14.

“The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Good were it for that man if he had never been born.” 14:21

“And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priest and the scribes and the elders. And he that betrayed him had given them a token…and they laid their hands on him, and took him… And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.”14:43,44,46,48,49

“And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I WILL SMITE THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP SHALL BE SCATTERED.” 14:27

“And they all forsook him, and fled.” 14:50

“And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.”14:30

“And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.” 14:72

The last one from Mark to be included is found in 14: 62. The Old Testament prophecy quoted is found in Daniel 7:13. Its fulfillment is yet to come.

“And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see

THE SON OF MAN SITTING ON THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER,

AND COMING IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.”

The Lord God leaves us no doubt. He will fulfill His word, “as it is written.”
