Part 3 of Kings & Kingdoms Continued
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
When we think of daily bread our minds go straight to food. But on a day to day basis our needs far exceed bread. Yes, we need sustenance but we also need strength, peace, confidence, and hope in the trials, in the challenges of life. The scripture used is found in Psalm 20:1, 6-8. For contrast clarification I put scriptures together with their respective kingdoms. Meanings aren’t changed.
Kingdom of God:
“The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee…
Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand…
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God…but we are risen, and stand upright.
Kingdom of this world:
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses…They are brought down and fallen.”
Trials come in this life in both kingdoms. They are not fun, but they are a necessary part of life, of growing. Some grow and arise others fall.
- Do you handle the challenges with trust in the Lord that brings peace?
- Do you try to figure it all out and become frustrated when your plans fall apart?
- What do you trust in these days?
