Thine is the Kingdom & the Power

The last phrase of the Lord’s prayer is our assurance all things will come to pass as God has ordained. Satan has fought it from before the beginning and will fight it until the end. But this last phrase guarantees the children of the Father victory now and forever. Satan’s reign is quickly coming to a close for the rightful King is coming.

Being a King implies authority. Authority without power to administer it is, well, powerless to execute the authority.

We rejoice for our King has authority and power to back it up.

In the Old Testament God manifested His power in creation and His other mighty works.

“He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.” Jeremiah 51:15.

“All the earth shall worship thee,

and shall sing unto thee;

they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

Come and see the works of God:

he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.

He turned the sea into dry land:

they went through the flood on foot:

there did we rejoice in him.

He ruleth by his power for ever;

his eyes behold the nations:

let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

O bless our God, ye people,

and make the voice of his praise to be heard:

Which holdeth our soul in life,

and suffereth not our feet to be moved.”

Psalm 66:4-9

This same power dwells in our King, God the Son, by God’s design.

“The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” John 1:2-3.

Creation reveals His power and His power continues to be seen in His sustaining it.

“Who being the brightness of his glory,

and the express image of his person,

and upholding all things by the word of his power,

when he had by himself purged our sins,

sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:”

Hebrews 1:2-3.

And by His mighty power once and for all, all questions of who this Jesus is will be answered.IMG_0878

“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:30.

Revelation 1:7 says, “…every eye shall see him.”

Until that time, God’s children must still live in this kingdom remembering we are not of this kingdom. Remembering we have not been left without the power to live unto God.

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…and lo, I am with you away, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20.

But ye shall receive power,

after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you;

and ye shall be my witnesses…Acts 1:8

…I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live;

yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:

and the life which I now live in the flesh

I live by the faith of the Son of God,

who loved me, and gave himself for me…Galatians 2:20…

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13.

It is time we,

bless our God, ye people,

and make the voice of his praise to be heard:

Which holdeth our soul in life,

and suffereth not our feet to be moved.”

What thoughts come to mind when you think on the power of God living in you through the Holy Spirit?

  1. Thank you, Donna, for this series. I like it when you said, “God’s children must still live in this kingdom remembering we are not of this kingdom. Remembering we have not been left without the power to live unto God.” The series of verses you combined gave us an assurance or the “power to live” in faith in the Triune GOD. Until our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST comes and we joined Him in Heaven. My answer to your question is “strengthen my faith in you Lord” those are still my thoughts. I asked that in prayer to our GOD awhile ago. Another thought is conviction, guidance and intercession by the HOLY SPiRIT to live a life in faith to the Triune GOD who saves and sustains. GOD bless you and your family, Donna!
