“And she shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name
for he shall save his people from their sins.”
In the spirit of this month’s theme of salvation, and today’s post of Great Passages and Promises, I am sharing the following post from Lily. You can find her website at tblsite.me. Be sure to check out her pictures and devotions. Thank you, Lily for sharing. The passages are before you and I have underlined the promises in them.
Salvation is His Name
Reflecting on my Lord & Saviour Christ Jesus..
Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
The Lord Is My Strength and My Song; A Song of Thanksgiving
And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
And in that day shall ye say,
Praise the LORD, call upon his name,
declare his doings among the people,
make mention that his name is exalted.
Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things:
this is known in all the earth
. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion:
for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I AM God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17 would have to be my choice of the greatest passage among the others shared. For it embodies the fulfillment of the rest. It’s promise for the believing to be saved from death and given eternal life gives flesh to the word salvation – and his name is JESUS.
“Neither is there salvation in any other.
for there is none other name under heaven
given among men,
whereby we must be saved.”
With God’s great and wonderful gift our hearts should be filled with the Song of Thanksgiving. Which passage and promise resonated with your spirit today?
