He Knows My Name!

DSCF4322“…the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out…I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” John 10:3,14.

“Oh LORD, thou hast searched me…If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart… Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.” (Ps. 139:1a; 44:20-21;139:23).

“Oh LORD, thou hast … known me…The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him… the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity…(Ps. 139: 1b; Nahum 1:7;2Tim. 2:19).

“Thou knowest my downsitting…thou understandest my thought afar off…Thou compassest my path and…art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue,

but lo, O LORD, thou knowest it all together..Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do… The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good… For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.” (Ps. 139:2-4; Heb. 4:13; Prov. 15:3; 2Chron. 16:9; Job 34:21).

”Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it…Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings…with thee is the fountain of life…continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee.. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! FOR WHO HATH KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD? OR WHO HATH BEEN HIS COUNSELLOR…For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” (Ps. 139:6; Ps. 36:5-10;Rom. 11:33,34, 36).

If Jesus is known to you as Lord and Savior, then He knows you, calls you by name and leads you. Now it is time to do two things.

Pray: “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Ps. 139;23,24.

And:

“…to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night…For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep…thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.” Ps. 92:1,2,4,5,8).

If you do not come to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, one day you will hear these words, “…Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels…and these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”  Matt. 24:41,46.

He pleads with you to come, repent from your sin, turn to him and know life eternal. He is the only way to the Father, the only name whereby you can be saved.

“Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.

Does Jesus know your name? How does your answer affect your present and your future? As always I welcome your comments and questions. May you praise Him in the knowledge of truth throughout the weekend.

Celebrating Jesus!

DSCF4771

The day of celebrating Jesus’ birth passed, but celebrating Jesus continues in the hearts and minds of His children. If it doesn’t, then you missed celebrating His birth altogether.  I discovered something this morning as I prepared to share with you. I’ve always pictured celebrating Jesus meaning to worship and rejoice giving Him the honor and glory He’s due. Which it is. But there’s more.  The definition includes to keep, commemorate and observe, which are all part of worship and do result in a life of rejoicing. So, how are we to truly celebrate Jesus?

“…take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons:” Deut. 4:9.

“…take heed to thyself…” “God…Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son…Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard lest at any time we should let them slip…How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation…Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”(Heb. 1:1,2;2:1,3; Ps. 119:9-11).

“…and keep thy soul diligently…” “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak…Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is…Watch. (Matt. 26:41; Mark 13:33,37b).

“…lest thou forget…” “…beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him…Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof …For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness…But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life…be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…For…a hearer…and not a doer…goeth his way, and …forgetteth what manner of man he was.” (Deut. 6:12,13; Rom.6: 12,20,22; James 1:22-24).

“…the things which thine eyes have seen…” ”That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ…may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know…the hope of his calling…the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints… the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power… wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,” (1John 1:3;Eph. 1:17b,18-20).

“…lest they depart from thy heart…” “…attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life…A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good…Love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.(Prov. 4:20-23;Luke 6:45;Matt. 22:37).

“…teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons:” “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matt. 28:19,20.

The day of celebrating His birth may be passed but the opportunities to celebrate Him are before you. Celebrate Jesus…stay in the word, watch and pray, keep Him first in your heart, remember all He has done and share Him with others in word and deed.
